If you’ve been arrested in Massachusetts for a criminal offense, or if you received a summons to appear in court for a criminal matter, you will need legal representation to help you navigate the criminal justice system.
The first step in the criminal offense process in court is Arraignment. You will appear before a judge and enter a plea of Not Guilty.
Ms. MacLellan will obtain the police report, photographs, any witness statements and any other evidence the District Attorney’s Office plans to use against you at trial. Ms. MacLellan will also conduct her own investigation into your case and seek out witnesses or other evidence to build a criminal defense in your case.
The case will then be set for trial. You have a Constitutional right to a jury trial, a trial by your peers. You can also opt to try the case in front of a judge. In either scenario, the trier of fact will find you either Guilty or Not Guilty.
Ms. MacLellan handles all criminal cases including:
Operating Under the Influence (OUI) a.k.a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) – Drunk Driving Defense
Drug Cases including Possession and Distribution
Assault and Battery
Ms. MacLellan appears in all of the local courts including but not limited to: Dorchester District Court, Quincy District Court, West Roxbury District Court, Roxbury District Court, Hingham District Court, Dedham District Court, South Boston District Court, Chelsea District Court and BMC Central.
